In a press event in New Delhi today, Panasonic launched its new Eluga series of smartphones, and unveiled the Eluga U, the first smartphone in the series.The Eluga U sports a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display based on one-glass-solution. The unibody device has a textured glass design at the back and comes in two colors – black and white. Powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, the phone packs in 2GB RAM and includes 16GB internal storage. There’s a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash that allows 1080p video recording, and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
The phone runs on the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat and includes signature Panasonic experiences like Kwik Lock to double tap on the home screen to lock the phone, Fit Home UI for single-hand operation, Pop I player, Music café, and Gesture play.
Priced at ₹18,990, the dual SIM phone will be available in the market from first week of August.
