Panasonic Eluga Smartphone For Europe Announced

Panasonic recently announced its first smartphone for the European market, the Panasonic Eluga. This handset features a 4.3 inch qHD display as well as a 1 GHz TI OMAP dual-core processor. This device will run on the Android 2.3.5 at launch, however the handset will be updated to the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) OS from June 2012. The Panasonic Eluga is a IP57 certified waterproof and dustproof smartphone.

Panasonic Eluga features a 4.3 inch qHD display, sporting a resolution of 960 × 540 pixels, 1 GHz TI OMAP dual-core processor, Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread Operating System (upgradable to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS), 8 megapixel auto-focus camera, Digital zoom, Image stabiliser, Video recorder, 3G Connectivity, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and more.

Other features include a 3.5 mm headset jack, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, NFC (Near Field Communication), DLNA connectivity, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB internal memory, G-sensor, Ambient light sensor, GPS receiver, Accelerometer, up to 240 mins of talk-time, up to 300 hrs of stand-by time and a 1,150 mAh battery.

This handset will be showcased next week at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2012 in Barcelona. The price of this handset is still a mystery. The Panasonic Eluga will be available in the European market from April 2012.
